A post on

dragon_age about PAX put me into prediction mode. I've used a cut link because some of this is spoiler-ish.

Obviously, take these with a grain of salt, folks... I certainly am.

As TPTB have confirmed DA3 will be about the Mage/Templar war I see at least one large quest set in Orlais. Plus, Sandal will be there. Seems logical.

We won't see anything, other than cameos, of our beloved DA:O or DA2 companion characters.

We might hear about The Warden or The Champion, but we won't actually see them onscreen.

An expansion pack will wrap up anything from DA2/DA:O that TPTB are concerned with, and give committed fans a glimpse of things to come. There won't be much more than hints, though, because they'll want DA3 to be accessible to players new to the DA franchise. Expect more ancient magister stuff, maybe Hawke on the run killing darkspawn and thugs... that sort of thing. ~~And yes, while I would kill for more companion stories, I don't see it happening. Guess that's why there's fanfiction.~~

Flemeth and the old-god baby* are end-game pieces. I don't see either popping up in DA3 as anything more than cameo, unless Bioware is going to wrap up the series.

There was a post about Starkhaven being mentioned (PAX, also, I think?). As Sebastian is part of a DLC, I can absolutely see him returning as a companion character with very little retcon*. I'm getting a sort of antagonistic vibe off of him, though... even if Hawke kills Anders. On the fence about my prediction with him... but am leaning towards antagonist of some sort, possibly as part of a main quest?

Cullen will be back. Expecting him to be a main companion and LI, or feature prominently in a quest.

Sketch. I (heart) Sketch. I want to see him DA3 with all of my fan-girl soul. I don't see it happening without some basic character retcon*, though. He's not sexy enough. Yeah, the truth hurts, baby.

The Mage/Templar War will have an impact on Orlesian/Ferelden relations. I would like to see Ferelden being more pro-mage in the conflict, but... I think that's the fic writer in me.

Not sure how I feel about the Black Divine or the Tevinter Imperium at this point. ~~The part of me that wants to gut anyone who ever looked funny at Fenris is cheering on the thought of stomping the shit out of magisters.~~
