More Blathering...

Last year I watched Rookie Blue. I didn't follow it in an 'obsessed/must write fanfiction' sort of way, but I did catch most of the episodes. It's a little more soap-opera-ish than I typically go for (there is such a thing as too much 'ship) and cop shows -of any flavor- are definitely not my favorite genre. Also, the UST between Andy and Sam borderline annoyed me, because (as I bitch often enough) that on/off crap gets old really quickly.
I watched 208 last night... and it wasn't half bad. The characters are more interesting than I remembered (especially the 'side' characters), although there's still a lack of chemistry between some of the actors.
There were several bits of dialogue that made me grin. 'You think you're having a bad day? I'm blue.'
The A/B stories were pretty much 'meh'. I'm over 'locked in' and/or 'disease the audience knows is harmless' devices, and, although certain aspects of the blue-man story were enjoyable, I felt no empathy toward either him or his wife by the show's end.
Long story short, I'm going to start watching again, see where it goes.
Rough draft of If Wishes Were is complete. Quite a bit of editing that needs to be done, though. Can't stand the ending and there are some possible canon issues. It's AU (and to be honest, short on plot, long on smut), so I'm debating how much I want to fiddle-fart with it. I need to find a good beta in the fandom to mull these things over with.
