I *may* have spent the last 2 1/2 days blasting through 23-ish hours of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Not my fault, really (*)... the disks are set up to play all three episodes if the viewer selects 'Play'. Once I started, I couldn't stop. It was just that good.
Inky warned me it was Very Good Stuff... but, hot DAMN... the pacing alone is enough to make me boggle. TV shows just do NOT do this.
Typically, a new series will leave me fairly cold for the first few episodes, sometimes the entire first season. Even when the cast has excellent chemistry, it takes time for things to 'click', for the players to become comfortable in their roles and things to really come together. TSCC clicked from the pilot onward... the awkwardness just wasn't there.
The pancake theme is awesome.
Minor complaint. Eyeliner overload! Eep.
There were a few episodes which felt out of place and didn't work as well for me, but I'll get to those when I rewatch (oh, darn) and get my thoughts on straight, with actual notes and such.
Tomorrow there will be a blathering on the pilot.
Oh, and yes... the desire to fic this is strong.
